'11 minutes' chosen as Polish entry for Foreign Language Oscar / by Keith Jordan

The Polish Film Institute has selected Irish/Polish co-production ’11 Minutes’ as their official entry to be considered for Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.

Directed by Jerzy Skolimowski, produced by Ewa Piaskowska of Skopia Film and co-produced by Andrew Lowe and Ed Guiney of Element Pictures with backing by the Irish Film Board, the multi threaded drama revolves around the lives and loves of a diverse group of people during the course of the same 11 minute chain of events.

'11 Minutes’ stars Northern Irish actor Richard Dormer, Agata Buzek, Beata Tyszkiewicz and Mateusz Kościukiewicz, and filmed for five days in Dublin last September before moving on to Poland.

The film premiered in competition at the 72nd Venice Film Festival earlier this month and is due for release in Poland later this year.

Ken Galvin mixed the film on the Main Stage at Ardmore Sound, where we previously worked with director Jerzy Skolimowski’s on his earlier feature film, 'Essential Killing'. Check out the (sadly non subtitled) trailer below:
